Brewing five gals of Amber Lager with American lager yeast.
I'm also stewarding the St. Louis Microfest Homebrew contest on Saturday and Sunday. A first for me...hopefully I learn a lot!

I'm not brewing, but I'm serving beer at a charity event that I've done the last couple years.

I keep my grain at a friend's house and share a mill with him. He's in the process of a remodel and I can't get to the stuff! May be a couple weeks. Today, though, I'm consulting with a guy from Yakima who wants to run a brewing school at a college there. Sunday I'll be at an AHA rally in PDX.

what's the reason for this arrangement? as a guy who has brewed as many batches as you i'd think you'd want your own mill and grain right on hand.

Originally it was to save on the cost of a mill. In addition, I don't have a place to store grain and he has a basement where we keep 1000+ lb.

Our club does a once a year grain bulk buy, so my friend and I both stock up. 1000 lb. is only about 18-20 bags.
