Sunday is brew day. 10 gals O'fest for an August shindig, then 10 gals of pale ale for general consumption as the weather finally warms. Thinking MLPA....

O'fest in August? Oh yeah that's right its starting to cool down up there at that point getting ready for the snow to fly!!

Parkville Brew Festival in KC.  No brewing.  Some STL brewers/friends will be there and come over after.  Should be a fun weekend.  Surprisingly with my brewing cut down to about 1/3 of previous years pace inventory stays about the same.  That may get hit hard this weekend.

I expected my runnings to have more color. At first notion, I think 4oz Caramunich is bit stingy.

Just about to rack my MLPA wort to primary, oxygenate and hit it with a big, fresh blob of WLP090. The Signature Ale I racked out of primary [to get the yeast] looked & smelled beautiful. I have some additional time today [and the wife is out of town] so I think I'll send my Vienna and Kolsch batches to secondary and retire the 2308 and 2565. Cheers Beerheads... wnjoy your brewdays or your beer or whatever you're doing.

So I had contact with 4 different batches today. I threw away some of the WLP090 because I didn't need all of it and then I sent a whole blob of 2308 Munich and 2565 Kolsch down the drain because I was retiring both of them. As a result, my kitchen has the most delightful yeasty aroma and it's STRONG! :P Cheers.
