If anyone gets a beer made with the REDX into a glass, please snap a pic. I'd like to see how it looks and I would be interested in your review of how the malt performed and what the flavor is like. Appearance is big but it's got to have a good flavor character, clearly. Cheers.

I have one settling out now. I'll post a pick when it clears up a bit.

Nice color!

It does look beautiful. That's nice, but does it have a really good flavor?

It's really nice. Full malty without sweet or caramel.

Every time I see this thread resurrected, I think there will be a pic of a bright, red beer. No.

I'm bumping this so Ken gets exited that there may be a pic of a red beer. But I am brewing with it today. About to mash in on 14lbs. of it.

Hooray! A pic. I hate to say it but from that pic it's tough to tell how 'red' the beer is. It looks 'amber'-ish. It looks outstanding, by the way... beerwise. The color, clarity and head look awesome. Maybe get a shot of it outside with the sun on it so you can see the red? What is your impression of the color and what is your impression of the character of a 100% RedX beer? 1000 Internet points go to CWG for being the first on the board to post a pic of a beer made with REDX. Cheers.

It's fair to call the beer amber. It's not quite as "red" as some beers. I pick up a little extra color with a decoction. I'll try to get you a shot in the daylight. It's super malty in both the nose and flavor. This batch came out a bit less bitter than the batch that won the Beer Hoptacular. I like a more firm underlying bitterness in a Dusseldorf Alt. It's still a delicious beer.

Color seems consistent with Cara Munich 60.

I could see that. All the color without the raisin/dark fruit sweetness. I'd like to do a doppelbock with this malt. It would be insanely malty without being sweet.

I think mine is going to look consistent with CWG's. Was hoping for a better red color instead of amber. Here is a pic of my gravity sample.
