The event gets temporary permits for $25 so we fall under their license. You can see it taped to the trailer.
do you have to be an "official" brewery to do that or could a homebrewer serve with a permit like that?

Depends on the rules in your state. In FL we are allowed to serve homebrew at festivals and events. It falls under the license of the property owner and they are responsible for getting any extra permitting.
So Luptons is already wet zoned, but because this is a special event with a lot of people they had to get a couple extra permits for the beer trucks. JJ Pepin sent a beer truck, but it was a desert all night. Everyone was at my trailer drinking my beer.

Congrats Rich! How about a PUI Pirate beer? Maybe rum barrel aged porter?
Thanks! I've been trying to get some rum barrels, but it's not a top priority right now. I have a couple ideas for beers that might go well with rum barrel flavors. Maybe porter/stout, but honestly I'm sick of them. I'd like to get outside that box.

Honestly, porter was the first thing that popped into my head just cause of the alliteration of PUI Pirate Porter :)I agree on the over abundance of barrel aged porter and stout. My buddy that I put you in contact with does kettle sours that he ages in my used barrels. Works very nicel
Kettle souring is the shit. I will have some soured barrels though eventually. The list is long my friend.

Kettle sours are pretty nifty. Only downside is that you don't get the complexity that long term aging sours get but you do get that quick turnaround. Awesome base for fruit beer IMO.
Oh man, buddy makes a kettle sour beer he calls sunrise that tastes like mimosa. Great beer.
