Them: "Yeah, it's only 72 in my closet, it should be fine.  The kit said to pitch the yeast below 75, I got it down to 80.  I figured that would be good enough."

Me:  "Cool, I love making saisons!"

Them:  "Sai-what?  It's a pale ale!"

Me: "wow, sounds good. :sarcasm: "

perhaps I worry too much about ferm temps but WOW!

Fortunately, that story was fabricated.  :)

I am sure it is not too far from the truth though

Yes, I've heard close variations of that story too many times.

Sometimes I find myself in a situation where I am offered a beer, but it is not a type of beer I actually enjoy or would prefer not to drink. But social situations are such that turning it down would be too snobby or ungrateful or just out and out rude.

It is predictable that I get asked if I like the beer or is the beer is OK ? I tell them it is my "favorite kind of beer." "Really!" they ask. I say, "Yep, the cold free kind of beer. I love it." That seems to make everybody happy and I do not have to be rude.

Then I think up a good excuse for why I cannot have a second beer.
