I'm heading over to eastern Oregon this weekend for a book signing and brewery event.  2 breweries in Redmond, Wild Ride and Juniper, have collaborated on a version of my American mild and profits will be going to their local animal shelter.  I'm really happy about that and honored by the whole thing.  They sent me a copy of the label this AM and I'm just not sure how I feel about it..although at this point I really have no say!  Am I just being a cranky old curmudgeon...again?

Very cool being on the label and awesome that the profits go to a good cause. Seems like a strange name for a mild. The other "morning wood" named beers out there are barrel aged and/or coffee beers.

Yep, very cool. But I agree the name doesn't really add up. Don't take it personally!

Absolutely.  I'm kinda bewildered, but honored.

lol...if it's me, i'd laugh. it's a catchy name and label. i think that's all. i'm just surprised the ugly mug in the picture didn't break the camera.

although, if it's your recipe, i think they should have consulted with you regarding the name and label...that would just be the professional thing to do.

It's cool Denny. I like that they're making your beer and then proceeds go to the animal shelter. Roll with it! :D

Yeah, maybe it's just my elderly sense of humor, but I find the name a bit sophomoric.  But the rest is really cool and I'm honored that they're doing it.  I'll live.

I think it is out of place... that ABV 4.0% I mean. I would expect your photo with what I thought was a trademark pony tail.  Nice honor!

I never do the ponytail since I stopped working.  It's to symbolize the freedom from repression!  ;)

Well, the name has been changed to "Denny's Murican Mild Ale".  I showed the previous label to some friends and brewery owners.  They pretty much fell off their bar stools laughing.

Is the description supposed to say 'Bold mouthful' or 'Bold mouthfeel'?

Cool thing they're doing!

As I get older, I find the sophomoric less humorous.

Duh, I bet that's why they call it sophomoric.

Just call me Captain Obvious.
