Hmm, so maybe my bud was one of the three regional winners? I need to find the thread on our local board and see if I can clarify this.

What's the name of that group? I may still have an account there. I got in on some hops group buys with my old friend Ghost of Winter.

Milwaukee Area & Chicagoland Brewers Group. It's a ghost town these days. I did a search over there but couldn't find it. I saw where my bud took 4th in the Lognshot with a Raspberry Porter but I could swear he won [something] with his kolsch.

Oh yeah... the crickets are chirping. When I went out last week for beers, I met 3 of the guys from that board. I'm planning a get-together sometime this spring or summer with people from that board. We used to get together regularly and that board used to have traffic. But... I understand that brewing and talking about brewing is often on the bottom rung of the priority ladder.

That depends how much you love brewing beer.

No it doesn't. It depends on whatever else is happening in your life. Work. Spouse. Kids. Sick dog. Elderly parents. Family obligations. No one loves brewing beer more than me. Write that down. But I also realize that there are other more important things that need to be done.

Schwanz is right. You can love beer enough to forsake work, your sick dog, spouse, kids, etc. You'd probably be sad and alone for a while until word got out that you make kick ass beer. :frank: :D

I won the category in the Midwest.

Went to the finals in the Midwest and didn't make top 3.  The top 3 in each area (West, Midwest, East) then go to Boston.  They pick top 3 in Boston, then final voting happens at GABF.

Denny, has anyone offered to fly you out somewhere and speak yet?

Yeah...Nashville last winter, Brazil in a couple weeks.

I check in every now and then, but it's weird having a thread going with weeks between posts. I used to try to meet up when I could, but with kids and school I never have free time at the right time. Even CJ in J used to pop in. Most importantly, though, I learned about Memory Lapse Pale Ale there.
