good points - I don't have a lot of hop samples.  both beers I'm working with have a lot of simcoe dry hops in the keg.

The one I was describing had a high % of nelson and citra with some cents thrown in for good measure.

Got it. That's the one I was looking at. So it looks like you recommend it?

Sure send it too me…I'd be curious to see what you changed.

i will dig it out. I think it was the hoping rates.

I plan to brew this again in a few weeks so yes, i recommend it.  I was not thrilled with it when I first put it on tap, it seemed to need a couple weeks in teh keg to "come together"  After that

Great, thank you. The recipe is full on west coast for sure. And getting back to the OP, I'm not sure I've seen clear west coast IPA before. Even the Union Jack I've had has a touch of haze to it. My sample size is a bit limited though.

I really thought I would have had more pictures.  This did not prove anything to me other than I am now thirsty and I forgot how dark Modus is/was!

What do I know? Been looking at too many west coast brewery websites. A lot of them show pictures of hazy IPA.

FTR some of these are older so they may not be following the new trends.  I think we can agree they look tasty!

Oh yeah they do. Could use one right now! How dry did you get that clone BTW?

Heady changed the game for IPAs.  Cloudy is cool now.

I'll admit my natural preference is for clear beer, but the cloudiness doesn't really bother me.  At least not in a MEGAIPA.  It would certainly turn me off for some styles.

Very nice!

it's a handsome beer for sure.

the picture actually makes it look a little more amber than it really is.  it's actually more yellow/orange than orange/red.

here is another DIPA data point:

Although clearing a beer is something I shoot for, I don't mind cloudy. I had the chance to have a few Headys and that stuff isn't clear, and it was darn good. So I guess it really doesn't matter. Indecision may or may not be my problem.

Aroma is #1.  Bitter Bite is #1.  Clarity is #17.  imho.  Smell and taste yo!

I always had excellent results with s-05.  Clarity was really done in plenty of time in the secondary.
