1469 does this and is doing it on my pale mild right now. Ill rack through it when I keg tonight. 1007 did that on my Alt too.

I have racked though it before for a mild and porter so I am not worried about that but worried about the dry hopping a bit.

have you used 1469 before? How do you like it?

Yes Ive used it several times mostly on bitters. Its a really nice yeast. At 68f it appears to have given my pale mild a very nice character. Im also planning a english summer ale with it and probably a northern english brown after that.

The M29/VT ale and 1318 were kegged last night.  Both smelled really nice going onto the kegs and I hope to give them a taste this weekend.

I can never resist trying at least a quarter pint whenever I make a transfer.

I at least keep some in the transfer line and sample that.

I did sample some of the 1318 version as I was transferring and liked what I sampled.  I may have to swing down to the basement tongiht and test both versions just to make sure they are progressing OK.

These. I tend to taste water, grains, wort, and beer all though out the process. It's interesting to taste what changes and what does not. Also, as Morty says, fresh beer is really, really good sometimes.

I agree with that but I also had to do it quickly to deal with the 2 unhappy kids upstairs.

I often do it just so the kegs aren't filled right up to the gas post.  it's part of my kegging process now.

Agh, I see.  I never go that far, I have it dialed in so I have the right amount in my fermenter to fill it and no more.

I should probably do that but I never adjusted my boil off rate.

Did a quick test over the weekend between the 2 versions and I like them both but the 1318 does have a softer feel to it.  I still did not get the softer mouth feel I was looking for but can work towards that.  The M29/VT had a much higher grapefruit presence where as the 1318 seemed to enhance the tropical fruits in the citra.  Overall 2 good beers and I will post a better review once they are in teh keg for another week.

1318 version - very clear minus the condensation on the glass.

Glad to see an update on this. Looking forward to your thoughts on both taste and mouthfeel.
