Interesting article although I did notice at least one goof regarding the historic significance of pilsner.Lagers in the Craft Beer world.

Poor editing to miss the significance of Plzen. Very cool brewery to brew only lagers. Ironic that a brewery called Jack's Abbey has no Belgian ales though.

I think that one message that I would like to see get noticed is that "gold lagers" that are made in Europe are not the same gold lagers that American breweries have been cranking out for decades. Most people assume that if it's "pale", it's no good. I was at a street-fest kind of thing yesterday and I was standing in line at the beer tent. They had a cider, Pilsner Urquell, Blue Moon IPA (actually never heard of this), a pale ale and a stout. The young couple behind me were naming them out loud... Pilsner Urquell, what's that? OH BLUE MOON! Wait, what's IPA? What's the difference between pale ale and stout? The line was long so I was describing some of these things to them and they appreciated it. Clearly we have a lot of educated beer lovers but not everyone understands all these things. Many people don't know what IPA is let alone IPL. It takes some explanation.
