On Beersmith podcast. Tons of hop info here. Doesn't make the hop landscape and brewing with them any simpler. He talks dry hopping, oils, whirlpooling and lots of other stuff. I haven't even listened to the whole thing yet. A couple points I thought were interesting though not surprising… hops exposed to boiling for just 10 minutes will lose half of their oil content to volatilization. Also, some large breweries are dry hopping based on weight of total oils and not of weight of the hops as a whole, but few do this because few breweries know the oil content of their hops.

We are lucky enough to have Stan's vast beer knowledge right here in St. Louis.  In fact, he's in our homebrew club (STL Brews) and I've had the opportunity to both steward and judge competitions with him here in town.

He'll chat beer with you all day and answer every dumb question I can think of....ha!

A little over three years ago he spoke at our club's annual competition.  It was a large event, lots of people.  I ran into him at Schlafly's Repeal event this year, Someone tried to introduce me to him but he called by name before they could.  What a memory he has.  Great guy.

Its worth the listen. Plug it in on your commute. I still need to finish it. I have listened to a number of podcasts with him the last few years and he is a wealth of information. Sounds like a very interesting and nice guy every time he's on.
