Decided to go with some riwaka hops with galaxy instead, 84/56 for both additions.

Hold everything. Where did you score Riwaka?

Opened my freezer... You never know what you may find in there.

So has this been sitting in there for a few years or your not going to tell me where you got it?

Are you sure Riwaka and not Rakau? Riwaka imports to the US were suspended a few years ago except for one or two breweries here under contract.

ETA: They are supposed to be delicious and grapefruity. I deduced a while back they are are the contributing NZ hop in New Glarus's Moon Man Pale Ale. So if that's what you have, enjoy!

Yeah, I am pretty sure!  Ended up doing a 45 minute whirlpool starting at 180, wort smelled awesome going into the fermenter.

That's awesome. I can't find a single US retailer so you got yourself one nice score! And you scored them in my backyard!!! :cussing:

Bump to say this beer has been gone about 2-3 weeks now and I miss it dearly. Thinking about making it again real soon.

Also bump to find out how Drez's Galaxy/Riwaka MO beer discussed above turned out.

I just got it kegged last week and it is still a bit under-carbonated.  The tank ran flat while carbonating but that has been fixed.  I liked the flavor and was happy how the single malt worked in this beer.  There is a bit of harshness on the hops but in my experience the NZ and AUS hops need a bit of time in the keg to condition out.  I was hoping for a bit more nose with 5oz of dry hops but it may need a bit more CO2 for that.  I will have a couple pints tonight so I can better critique the beer, just for you :)

Not a bad beer by any stretch just needs a bit of time to come into its own IMO.
