Maybe I have completely missed this, but I just read that you're supposed to read your hydrometer at the TOP of the meniscus, not the bottom.  I checked my hydrometer with 60F water and sure as shit, the 1.000 is at the top of the meniscus.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has been reading my hydrometer at the bottom of the meniscus.

It might depend on the hydrometer. The scale can be set either way by the manufacturer. At the calibration temp mine reads correctly at the top.

You guys should check yours at 60F and see what you see.

I calibrated mine at the bottom of the meniscus. Because it is 0.02 low, it would be a little more accurate at the top.
