It's hard to imagine that a $15 pH meter is going to be worth messing with.

I think it will work fine and be accurate but won't last very long.I bought one anyways.

How else would you know your pH?

The strips are OK but not terribly precise.

The same can be said for PH meters.

Not good quality pH meters.  $10 is a cheap chinese knock-off.  You can get a decent pH meter that you can expect to be accurate (if properly kept) for not that much money.

For a little over $13 it seems worth at least messing with it a bit to see how it compares to what I see on the test strips. If it reads accurate in the buffer solutions I could at least get an idea if bru n water is getting me where I want to be. Even if it only works a couple times, whatever.

I don't think I've ever run across a homebrewer that's been satisfied with their pH meter for very long.

if they are buying the sub $20 variety I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Milwaukee 101. I think I paid about $75 but IIRC Drez has linked to a place that has them a few bucks cheaper than that.

Mic proof? Can't say for sure about that. Are you clumsy?

I used the meter in the OP this weekend. Worked great. Bru'n water prediction mash pH of 5.2, strips looked to be 5.2 and the meter said 5.2. I feel good about my process that my pH has been good all along.

That said the 102 has been on my Amazon wish list for awhile now, one day I will pull the trigger.
