Fired up my RIMS today to recirc cleaner through my plate chiller, PWC, and RIMS tube. My 240v 50 amp GFCI blew and would not reset. After some investigation the element had come loose in the can allowing liquid to get to the connections. Good to know all my safety equipment works. From here on out Im planning to check all my cans before every brew day to make sure they are tight. Here is a pic for those that dont know what Im talking about.

You can see the threads for the element in the TC fitting.

How did the element come loose? It's not like there is any vibration or anything, seems strange. I'll take a look at mine.

Probably from removing the element at the TC fitting for cleaning.

Glad your fail safe worked.  I had an element fail midboil once.  That was fun.
