"finished" product:

It worked out well.  There's a leak in the liquid QD connection that I have to figure out, but it did what I wanted it to.  Started the siphon with ease, then I just cracked the top on the gas QD to let air in and keep the siphon going.  I could have pushed it all with CO2, but i don't really think that's a big benefit.  Maybe if i had access to cheaper CO2 I'd pre-purge the kegs and push with CO2, but at $22/5# that ain't happening. (OK, it's not that expensive, just seems wasteful :)).

Very cool. Can you adjust the height of that dip tube to accommodate different depths of yeast cakes?

Here's another pic of the bucket in action.  I've got a brown ale going in there right now:

I plan to add a 1.5" tri-clamp to the lid, thermowell and I will have the SS immersion chiller mounted inside for cooling and will have a heating pad and insulation on the outside.

I'm not exactly clear on how diff a SS bucket would be from a SS kettle.  thinner walled maybe?

14g seems to be the biggest they have,  135 I think with shipping.  I think that is too small for your brewery, correct.

Yes, I think so. I just bought it off their website though.

Their are gallon marks but I guess they are off, I really did not care about that.

Not sure to be honest, I think the walls on this are thicker than my boil kettle.  I looked at just getting a kettle and building one but this was easier.  The one issue with a kettle is I did not want riveted handles and I would have needed to make a gasket and tig on the latches.

link to product?  eta:  nm I see the link there now.

my SS kettle has welded handles but I would need to seal up the top somehow.

I also did not want to ferment in my brew kettle because that would prevent me from brewing a beer while one is fermenting. I think Loni Mac from teh brutus 10 fame fermented in his kettles.

oh yeah - I'd want one dedicated for fermenting.  that looks like a nice product.  can you do pressure transfers with it?

I have not tried yet because I am waiting for my parts but I will do a pressure transfer from it.
