I just happened over to the Monster Brewing Hardware site and noticed he is running a sale on the 2-roller "kit" that has the hopper and all.  As long as I have known Fred, I dont think he has done a sale.  I will have to ask him about it and if he will be doing more.

Full dislosure, yes I know Fred.  Yes I own a MM-3. No, I am not plugging for him or get anything for this.  Just noticed it on the web site and thought others might want to know.  Also, when Fred started Monster Mills, I got to test drive the 2-roller for him before he released it.  It is an awesome mill.  If I didnt get the scratch and dent 3-roller I have, I would have one of the 2-rollers.

Thought yall might like to know.

I have the MM-3 as well.  I love it.

This reminds me I need to put together my grain milling cart!

I have the mm-2. Ive never used any other mill to compare but it is very nice and easy to take apart and adjust. Fred was very helpful when I screwed up my drive roller and replaced it with a bigger shafted version. One of these on sale is a deal for sure.

There is humor in this post.

Fred is one of those guys that bends over backwards for his customers. When he *cough* worked for the other place he was very helpful on the phone many times helping me work through some issues. Fwiw, those issues never got resolved and I have a $200 boat anchor in my drawer. Fred did it right with the MM.

I was going to go with a MM-3pro, but I wanted expandability so I went with a 12" jim boney malt mill. I think the only flaw in those monster mills is that he uses bushings instead of bearings. The mill will last a lot longer with bearings (which would matter for commercial use mostly). Cost would go up by $20 - $50 though possibly.

I regularly think about upgrading my mill. I have a crankandstein from when Fred was operating it, and it honestly has worked exactly as I needed it to. Something about the big 3 roller model is compelling, but I just have so many other gadgets and things I want to buy that take precedence over replacing a perfectly working mill!

My CC three roller is the boat anchor I was referring too.
