Just picked up a pound each of Azacca, Mt Hood, Citra and Magnum. The wife is going to kill me.

Never used a single leaf hop, ever. Someone convince me as to why I should try them.
Easier to strain out of wort?
The faster degradation and lower utilization always kept me away. I'm sure it's no issue for big brewers who are going through a bale every few batches but for homebrewers I'd imagine you'd need to be diligent about vac packing them. It could be an overstated worry, though.

Just made my order for this year's leaf hops; picked up a lb each of Cascade, Centennial, Magnum, Columbus, and Mt. Hood.
That ought to hold me over for a bit.

I like the storage aspect of pellets (take up less space, degrade more slowly) but I'll use leaf if that's what I have. I'm not sure I'd be able to tell the difference in the final product.

$25/lb for a lot of varieties. Is that what we're expecting this year? Does this mean my LHBS is going to be charging $4/oz for hops now?

I feel like this happens every year. the prices are high to start with and then taper off when the pellets show up and things stabilize. I could be wrong of course.
