One of my greatest adventures was working for 8 months in Portland back in 97. For a Florida flat-lander it was awesome.  Every minute of free time was spent in some mountain range or south in wine country. One of my go to drives for fun was the Scenic loop around Mt. Hood. So, with a sack of freshly purchased Mt. Hood Hops, here is Sunday's batch; 1.048 SG, 32 IBU, 10 SRM.

8# 2 Row
1# Flaked Corn
1/2# Munich
1/2# White Wheat
1/2# C60
1oz Midnight Wheat (color)
1.2oz Cascade 60
1.0oz Mt. Hood 10
1/2oz Mt. Hood 5
1oz each Cascade and Mt. Hood FO

1450 to do the driving, which leads into my next batch: Denny's base Imperial Porter :)

Anticipating a nice clean hoppy APA. Cheers Brothers.

Hoods go well with other C-hops. Should be tasty enough.

indeed they do.  one of these days I need to make a german style lager with mt. hood to see if I like it as much as hallertau.  I figure it's in my best interest to keep around as few varieties of hops as I can so I can go through them faster.

I'll be taking a sample/reading tonight. Hoping for a very nice mellow hop flavor.

Well, this beer turned out very good but it's taking some time to clear up. The lowest gravity/abv I've done in a while (5%) but it's sorta nice to have a couple pints back to back w/o bombing....

One thing I won't do again is to use the Mt. Hoods in a APA type format ~ they didn't bring enough to the table for "my" notions of what an APA should taste like. The Cascade did its usual role but I would have preferred to have either a little more citral or dank or both in the finish.

Next up with the Mt. Hood will be something on the line of an Alt, Saison or Belgian of some sort.
