Well, it looks like Top Beer isn't quite dead. My brother offered to build me a computer that can handle the video editing and install some software for me to use. I'm going to try and put out a short episode using the footage we already have from Hunahpu day and beer week last year. We have over 9 hours of footage. I'll probably do a bunch of short 5-8 minute episodes instead of 30 minutes like the first one.

I figure I can hack some stuff together. I'm not worried about quality yet. We'll get there if we manage to make some new episodes. I'll have about 2 weeks over Christmas to get some of the work done and I'll be able to do it at home after work as well.

No, this shouldn't cut into time for the brewery. If some things happen in the next 3-4 weeks then I'll be able to use Top Beer as a promotional tool for the brewery. When the brewery opens I'll either pass off the reigns or hire someone to be the brewery/Top Beer/social media person. I'll still star in it of course. This face was made for the small screen. :P

Cheers!

Well don't expect a lot of the quality editing like that for a while again since I am a complete noob at editing. I ought to have my computer back next week. I'm excited to get started again.

Its all good. Yall's enthusiasm and good questions is a big part of it.

I know little about editing other than from the viewer side of it, but my opinion is less is more on it.  Don't use a ton of "cute" transitions or fancy filters or whatevers.  Just because the editing software CAN do it doesn't mean you SHOULD do it.  :D   Just an opinion from years of youtube consumption.

If you minimize the fancy transitions, no excessive graphics and concentrate on what you are trying to convey, editing does not have to 've difficult.

Get somebody fresh and divorcesd from the projects to watch your first edit and have them tell you where they got confused or did not understand something.o

We were headed in that direction before we derailed.

Got my computer back. I need some software to do the editing now. Can't cost an arm and a leg. Maybe a toe. The small one.

Check out Sony Vegas. Last time I used it, it was pretty solid. Good features and stability at a fair price.

Sony has a habit of effing up software, so check reviews on Amazon, pay attention to the most recent version only.
