Every February we go away for a weekend with several families. Each year we bring 3 kegs. I have been doing more and more of the brewing the last 2 years. I have an IPA and a Pale Ale brewed for this event already. Last night I was told that the 3rd beer that was to be brewed by someone else was not brewed and asked if I could put something together quickly. I have 2 weeks from today to have this in a keg and ready to travel. The recipe needs to appeal to a variety of palettes and not be hop forward. I want to get this mashed in tonight. I am thinking brown/nut brown (NB caribou slobber), maybe amber ale or blond ale. I have 002, 001, 1469 readily available. Who has a favorite idea for this situation?
Quick beer, can't decide

Dark Mild or another low gravity malty swiller.

Citra wheat is great IMO but maybe too hop forward, although that can be subjective.

As much as I would love it… gotta go tame with the hops on this one.

Unfortunately I need to appeal to existing tastes. Not a good event to try to evolve peoples palates.

People like saisons. They just don't know it yet. My last saison was universally popular with the non-craft-beer crowd (mostly ladies).

yeah, since no big hops I was thinking a more traditional American wheat. basically a hef without the hef character you get from german yeast.

I did think about that but I'd like something with a little more character. That's why I was leaning amber or brown.
ETA: I might be able to do a decent Irish Red in 14 days. Would have to use 002 or 1469.

Just make a blonde ale. Half 2-row, half wheat, a clean hop like Mt. Hood or something at 60 and ½ an ounce of something else (or the same thing) at 5 minutes. 001 or 1469 and you're done. Boom.
