I got an email yesterday which was a full thread that I participated in on NB sometime in 2012. In the email there was also a message about how the NB forum is being serviced this weekend and would be down. This morning I woke up to about 15 more emails all with the full thread in its content. The only 2 people here that I noticed were in these emails were Martin and Denny. The bots are taking over and regurgitating old content!

Yep.  They got a lot of crap for not moving old posts to the new forum, so they're in the process of doing that now.  But for some reason it notifies you every time they restore one of your old posts.  I should probably make sure to turn off notifications and see if that helps.

Not to the same extent, but I do get them occasionally, usually accompanied by a tout to enter a drawing for free stuff - if I buy XXX$ worth of merchandise.  I've tried unsubscribing in the past to no avail.

The emails have stopped but it sure was weird. I can't imagine there being a checkbox somewhere on the NB forum admin panel that says, "Send random emails for no apparent reason" next to it and someone checked it. Weird, wild stuff. It's the type of thing that makes you repeat... It's an imperfect world.
