it's important to not confuse their attitude and their methods.  If some or all of the methods turned out to be good I wouldn't cut off my own nose to spite my face.  I take useful information when it's given to me.

 

but the attitude:

1) secretive

2) elitist

3) unwilling to debate anything

 

no thanks.  I'll continue to operate in the light of day, debate new and old methods, and assist anyone who is looking for guidance.

There are only two guys over there that I have an issue with. I don't remember how many members are over there now but it's in the hundreds. The one guy who lives in Germany (Thilo) puts up a lot of food and beer pr0n and the one girl Melodie (from Cologne) puts up vids of recipes and the food looks outrageously good. As far as the beer & brewing information goes, I treat it like anything else... if something interests me, I look at it. If not, I ignore it. If I see some sort of unpleasant behavior, I generally rolls my eyes or ignore it and in one case I kicked a guy out (the guy that got into it with you).

Good lord, I went back and looked at some of the conversations had on there and found some seriously messed up stuff. Usually started by one member then piled on by a couple more. If that were representative of the HB community in general, I'd take up knitting instead.

Exactly!  What gets me is that they advocate all this rigamarole to supposedly get "real German flavor", yet no German brewer does what they insist is necessary.  Does not compute.

Yes, he is.  I can only imagine what they say about me....also, keep in mind that Marshall is a psychologist ion a prison, so he's well versed in abnormal personalities!
