Is there something that I can buy pre-made that's decent?

Or is there a part list for something I can easily build myself?  I'm sure I could figure something out but I only have so many brain cycles for doing stuff like this.

and what do you think of them?  since I can't see the pic, are these intended for corny kegs?

I also have to wonder - if one were to finish fermentation in the keg do you really need to purge the keg?

You should see it now I changed the host.

They do what they are supposed to, one has a release in it like in the picture and one just has a manual open close.  That is the one I first built and have not put on the pressure release yet.  I have one just never added it.

I would get one premade. I'm not into building stuff like most homebrewers. I suppose I would pick up a few of them too since I have room for 4 kegs in my on-deck fridge. Can I also assume that if you don't get enough natural carb in the beer that you could always hit the keg with force-carbonation from a CO2 tank just to top it off?

yeup.  I'd actually go a little in that direction if I had any ability to estimate.  it's easier to add more CO2 than to degas the beer.

here are some instructions: https://seanterrill....spunding-valve/

I didn't know there was special Teflon tape for gas.  I thought it was all the same.

I have one like this. I use it when force carbing, I was surprised how far the spunding gauge and the reg gauge are off from each other,

the only issue is I'm not sure if I'm seeing anything of decent quality that is pre-made.  maybe I'm wrong.

There is a special tape for propane I know that.  For CO2 I am not going to worry about it very much but that is me.

since CO2 won't cause an explosion I'm less worried about it too!

I tend to use teflon paste instead of tape for most things these days so I just use what I have.

this seems like a pretty nice write up on a DIY one:  https://www.homebrew...ding-valve.html

kind of wish everything was SS or brass though.  not sure about that carbon steel fitting.

The one I posted is brass and SS.  You could do more SS if you want to pay teh premium.

ETA: I looked at your link where is the carbon steel?
