Brewing this next week on Tuesday, since it's getting hot as hell out:

45.5% Pils

45.5% wheat

9% Munich

2 oz Columbus (14% AA, pellets):

0.25 oz as FWH

0.5 oz for bittering (90-min)

0.25 min for flavor (10-min)

1 oz for a hopstand (30-min)

US-05 will handle the heavy lifting in the primary.

Beersmith predicts an of OG of ~1.061 (~6.2% abv), ~54 IBUs, and ~5 SRM for this one.

Will post pics in the Pint-Picture thread once on tap.

Ive found the 90 minute pils boil to be useless waste of gas, looks good otherwise.

Half ounce or 1 oz. of dry Columbus would be nice if you are going to go straight Columbus.

Agree and my 30 minute helles would agree too!

Just mildly lulzing at a 6.2%, 54 IBU beer for when it's hot as hell! Looks like an IPA from over here.

I think that 54 IBU's will not really translate into and IPA type bitterness.  1oz of hops in the boil is  not IPA like... at least not at my house :)

unless it's 1 oz at 20% AA

:D

the beer as posted sounds solid, Columbus goes well with Wheat or Rye

I agree the beer looks good and I would probably like it. I might even like on a hot-as-hell day!

I think it sounds good. The high ABV and IBUs are unusual for wheat but WTF? Why not?

I would do a pinch more Munich for that much bittering but that's just me.
