they have a Fahrenheit readout STC-1000 module on Amazon for the exact same price as the Celsius version

Some of the version you can flash too so that it will do programed fermentation.  I never looked into it because I am my programed fermentation schedule.

If you need a STC-1000, I have one with your name on it.   Its 220V but I can make it DC so you can just get a old 12V charger and run it from that.

Hey Dan, thank you kindly. I'm leaning toward the Inkbird 308 for its one stop shop and price. Capable and handy, I am. Electrically saavy, I'm not.

those seem like a pretty good value.  you end up with something similar to a DIY STC-1000 type of setup for only a little more than the parts to do the DIY build.  sounds like a good deal.

Year warranty. Plenty of time for it to shit itself.

I'm still using an analog Johnson controller I found at a local electrical surplus outfit for $15, all I had to do was wire on a plug.

I have a 90% assembled stc-1000 that I need to complete as well.

If karma brings more cold weather to south Florida, that would be totally legit to me :)

Winter? We'll get a couple 3 weeks of sub 60 stuff (maybe). Warms up into the high 60's to 70's during the day. Pleasant by all means, but no danger to ferments. Wish it were a longer season. Not bragging. Been down here all my life and it would be nice to have a change of season.

A couple 40's if we are lucky. I spent Saturday doing yardwork in 90+ but the good news is it only felt like 114F. Thank God for the 84F pool.
