OK, look...Summit can be and is a great hop.  I love to use it.  ANY hop can develop that onion/garlic thing if it's harvested too late, although some varieties are more prone to it than others.  And while we're busing myths, homebrewers do NOT necessarily get the leftover hops.  At harvest time, buyers from the bog wholesalers (Brewcraft, BSG, etc.) are right there bidding on lots along with the commercial brewers.  Geez, some of you guys oughta go to Hop School!

It is on the wrong coast!

The Opal I used wasn't good for dry hopping. I also had some tettnanger that was bad out of the bag. Garlic and dirty socks.

One of the hop farms we visiti at Hop School runs a brewery called Bale Breaker.  It's their beers that I've referred to as having as much (at least) hop flavor and aroma as NEIPA but being crystal clear.  See, ya gotta come try it!

I only use Opal for bittering and that's REALLY rare. Were your Tettnanger German or US? The US Tettnanger aren't good, IME.
