Not sure why that never crossed my mind.

not sure if I've ever accounted for it but it seems like a good idea.

I dry bean with about 5 oz. coarsely cracked in secondary.  That adds a lot of aroma and a little flavor.  Then at packaging I add brewed coffee to taste.

Oakshire makes a GABF award winning espresso stout.  They use cold brewed espresso added to the brite tank.

That Oakshire Espresso Stout is a fine beer

Ya know, I may have one around.  If not, I can probably get it.  I'll look into it next week.

Has anyone used or thought about using an instant espresso coffee and simply letting it blend into the beer? I'm pretty sure Café Bustello makes an instant.

interesting idea.  maybe a little nescafe dark?  I'd make sure to put it in uncarbed.  I bet it would foam like crazy!

Ya, I could see the foam. I thought of this because a guy in my club is a big wine maker. At Christmas last year, he turned us onto an espresso wine he made with nothing but sugar and a pound of instant café bustello. The stuff was good. Heavy but good. Also had a very old port quality to it.....

Wow, that must be coffee forward.  I dry bean with about 1-2oz of uncrushed and I got a nice amount of coffee from that.

It's near .5 per bbl. Seems about right to me.
