funny since that's what my parents did as well.  my dad hated it at the end - hence retiring at 54ish (I think).  my mom liked it a lot more but only made it to her early 60s.

oh yeah - it's utility beer.  it's pretty easy to get it for about $1/bottle at the grocery store.

probably not for 6er but a 12er for 11.99 isn't too uncommon last I checked.

My local has cases of finest kind for $24. Definitely a good deal.

Nothing available for $6 a sizer at all around here. $10 for anything decent including smutty, as mentioned better prices on 12 packs as expected. My gf who likes malty beers just found Paulaner Octoberfest Weisn for $12 a 12 pack which is a steal.
