Sneaking in my first brewday in almost 2 months (since our kitchen was being remodeled).

Mash is underway for an American IPA; this one will feature some of my homegrown Cascades from this year's harvest for FWH, late additions, and hopstand.

Mostly pils, + some Munich, C-20, and wheat, plus Columbus for bittering.

Anyone else firing up their kettles today/this week?

Amazingly I really have nothing hoppy on tap at the moment - Helles - Fest - American Stout - Harvest Ale.  After these 2 batches of helles are done I want to go and do the Waterpark base with a hint of spelt and then Galaxy and Citra 3:1.

I made a very simple 1.046 saison yesterday that got a pitch of 3726. I'm building (rebuilding actually) some 2308 for my Barke Helles. Also putting together a west coast style IPA with Simcoe, Chinook, El Dorado, and maybe a touch of Bravo.

Are you guys doing the Denny experiment or are these your own trials?

I just wanted to make a helles.  I'm guessing I won't be doing the experiment since it would require me to brew 2 times in a row.  unless there is some other experiment I don't know about...

I could.  but wouldn't I also have to split my mash?

eta:  also I couldn't chill them at the same time.  I think I'd be introducing too many variables.

I haven't had a weekday brewday in a long time. I used to brew early weekday morning almost exclusively because our weekends used to be busier than our weekdays. I made a pilsner with WLP830 on Saturday and I plan to make a red lager and also a helles with that yeast as well. I retired some 1056 that I had running before I went on a recent trip and I don't see firing up any ale yeast for a little while... mainly because I have caught up and gotten my supply back. The next ale yeast I plan to use is Omega West Coast Ale (supposedly 1056- or WLP001-like) and I have an Amarillo-Citra beer planned for it along with some others. Cheers.

The Brewtan-B one does not seem to be up yet.  I am not sure how they do it.  Maybe it is not posted till results are in or the test are underway?

well I feel better now that I couldn't find it either :D

but anyway - that experiment would require 2 full on start to finish brews b/c you put brewtan in the mash.  I don't think I have the time for it but  to you guys that do it b/c I'll be interested in the results!
