Going to use this blob of 2124 one last time and probably on Sunday. I'm going to make a recipe that is similar to my Bordertown Dark Lager recipe but with some tweaks. On my Monday night bowling league, a buddy and I usually drink Dos Equis Amber. It's a good bowling alley beer (and just a good beer generally). Eventually one of the other guys on the team started drinking it saying, "Wow, I had no idea how good this was!" and then another guy and finally the last of the 5 guys plus another guy that subs for us. So all of the Corona and Coors Light guys switched over to Dos Equis Amber. So I'm going to make a beer very much in the spirit of it and on the last night of bowling when we all collect our $130 million in prize money I'll hand each guy a bomber of my version just for fun.

Making an O-fest on Monday.

Had some leftover slurry from my resurrected 34/70 starter from a couple weeks ago, so i made a starter yesterday, and the remaining slurry took off like a shot.  Saw foam appear within 2 hours of starting the stirplate.  :frank:

I think it's about done now, so it'll go into the lager fridge to settle out before Monday.

Starters rule.

Probably not.  I've used that US-05 long enough.  Picked up a couple bags of grain today from a LHBS buy along with some 1272.  That'll probably be spinning later next week.

Brewed an all two-row IPA, using nugget at 60 and Citra at flame out.

My 1450 starter is in the fridge and ready to use, so I may brew today or tomorrow, depending how I feel. Probably tomorrow.

Just finished this up at 6 this morning. Its about noon, and she's starting to take off. Its a Liberty Ale Knock off, 2 row and all cascade hops. Just for kicks, doing an open fermentation with WLP051. Using some cheese cloth for some insurance. 20170327_113117_zpszp1gku9p.jpg

Oktoberfest mash is underway; the entire garage smells like malt.
