Is Rye malt considered a high protein malt? I would think that between that, the lack of kettle finings and a dry hop your going to get a solid haze in there. In my experience dry hopping on a protein haze is going to get you a near permanent haze. Was the beer hazy before it hit the dry hops? Could still be a delicious beer though.

psst .. beer #2 in my pictures .. RYA APA .. shhhh don't tell!! :)

I was saying that it was a beer with rye, dry hop and not hazy that is all. It did have whirlfloc though.

Got it. Agree, except I think the bolded part was key here.

Another one of those side by side test I need to do.  It had brewtan too and that is said to clear beers.

Either way, looking at it makes me thirsty.

It was cloudy before the dry hop. This was the first time I dry hopped in primary so I didn't give it much thought. Since the beer is on gas, probably can't use finings anyway. I guess I'm not too worried about the haze...most will be consumed by me and my wife. I'll have to do something different next time!

There's no reason you cant use finings if the beer is carbonated/carbonating.

That's usually my thought. Instead of messing around too much, learn and do it different next time. (On the other hand, it isn't much effort to try gelatin.) Just be aware that haze can lead to premature aging, so don't let it hang around ;)

Agree. If you do gel carbonating beer just be prepared to do it quick. It will start to foam once you pour the gel solution in... At least in my experience.
