I am confused why some hate to rack to another keg.  I do it for almost all my beers and for me it is not that much work.

At my place there is usually 1 or 2 pours and then it's an acceptable clear pour.  I agree it's not that much work.  I don't think the effort is worth the result - at my place.  When I have an event where drinkers that would look at cloudy stuff I will, or "red cups"  B)..............

I move kegs in and out of the fridge so I like minimal junk in there. Only cloudy beers I like are NEIPA's 😀

I keep my kegs broken down so I have to assemble a keg, sanitize it, purge it, rack--then I'm lucky if I don't have foam coming out of the PRV, so a mess on the floor. Then clean and break down empty keg and jumper.

Or, I rock the keg the beer is in a couple times over 2 weeks and pour off the cloudy stuff after it settles. Same result, much easier.

I can see that.  I tend to have a stockpile of clean and sanitized kegs ready to go.

so what I'm getting out of this thread is there is nothing really new.  too bad.  I'm trying to imagine what I'd really like.  basically it's something that is way easier to clean than a corny, maybe served via gravity but also can remain pressurized or at least not let O2 in.  the party pig seems like it could kind of do that but the non-reusable bags are kind of a no-go for me.  I also kind of wonder what sort of plasticizers you'd be pulling out of a flexible plastic bag with alcohol in it.

also - are there any small CO2 vessels that I could fill up from my larger CO2 tank?  maybe this isn't possible?

I looked at it once and I decided I did not want to bother filling my own tanks.  There are youtube video's out there that show how.  I think you need to have the tank modified with a dip tube but I am not 100% sure.

there are these keg chargers  - httpss://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Innovations-G5040-Charger-Black/dp/B000NV9CE6

This can be done easy or cheap .. I do not think it can be done both ways.

sort of related question.  could I turn around a batch of dry hopped wheat beer in 2 weeks?  I'd be going for 1.050, fermented on US-05.

note:  I can do accelerated maturation with the ferm chamber.  the real PITA would be that I'd brew it on a Friday and then have to keg it mid week about 1.5 weeks later assuming my best case turn around time.

I think that you could with US-05. I have never turned one around that quickly but I think it's possible. The fact that it would be dry-hopped tells me that it would not be clear. If you wanted to get to a marginal clarity, try S-04 instead... it floccs.

Yes, no doubt you can.  I turned around a S-05 beer in 9 days once.

Citra wheat FTW here .. easy drinking beer that everyone loves.

I will be honest, I do not agree with the clarity comment but that is from my own experience.

for a wheat beer everyone expects it to be cloudy so I'm not too worried.  it would more be the potential hop chunks on those first few pints :P

I'd have to check how much citra I have but in any event I have plenty of good hops for this kind of beer.  mosaic, galaxy, etc.  maybe I'll throw in some mt hood

a Gumball head clone would be my choice.

A version I have done many times with Citra, nelson or Mosaic
