I didn't think the thingy for creating extract was out yet, I saw it on Kickstarter at some point. Looks cool but out of my price range.

Yep, they introduced a still a couple months ago.  For essential oils and hop extracts only...;)


I didn't think the thingy for creating extract was out yet, I saw it on Kickstarter at some point. Looks cool but out of my price range.

 

Remember, this is the Pico C, not the Zymatic.  Much cheaper.

I can't say I'm a fan of the pod recipe system.  they should make something washable and refillable.

I thought I read something online to the effect that the devices have to be linked to a computer when brewing.  Is that accurate?

Yeah that would be cool, but at least the Paks are 100% recyclable.

They have to connect to the internet.

that is good but I was thinking more about being able to make your own recipe.  I haven't looked into if you can custom order your packs though.

Yep, you can.  It's called Freestyle and you can design your own paks.  They've got a pretty good range of ingredients and are adding more.
