I have had some issues with clogging up the poppets when I move hoppy beer to my brite/dh tank.  So I took care of that by silver soldering a barb fitting to the bottom of a corny lid, added a valve and a flare fitting.  I have a piece of 3/8 silicone attached to the barb so it gets to the bottom of the keg.  Worked much better than just attaching it to the beer out post and it was also quicker to fill.

That's very cool.   I like the closed transfer thing you've got going on too.  I assume that's a CO2-purged keg you're going into, right?

It is and it is set up as a brite/dh tank for me.  The inside looks like below other than the "in" tube is back to a small one.  This ends up being a completely closed transfer.

I just temporarily remove the poppet from the keg and the pin in the QD.

I have done that before too.  But I think everyone on here knows I like building things just as much as brewing so I found it as an excuse to build something else!
