Not something I would ever use but figured someone may be interested  httpss://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1792157374/plaato-reinventing-the-airlock

PLAATO is a brand new way of analyzing your ongoing fermentation.

It's an airlock - a reinvented airlock that sends information about your beer fermentation straight to your phone, including:

  • Specific Gravity
  • Fermentation Activity
  • Alcohol percentage
  • Ambient temperature
  • All 100% non-invasive

For every single batch, a unique fermentation analysis report is generated that lets you analytically understand what's going on.

Same here.  I just do not see the attraction to all these gadgets that tell you what gravity the beer is at. I can wait the 2 weeks till my beer is good and done.

I check OG and FG casually I guess and mostly out of routine. I don't change anything based on them, record them or anything. I like to know how much extract I got out of my mash and FG to make sure it's done.

Man, I'd go in both feet but I just "donated" my last dollars on KickStarter to a guy making mash paddles with star shaped holes.
