So I've been complacent about brewing, despite having purchased a Grainfather.  So far this calendar year, only one brew.  Going to rectify that.  Picked up some hops and yeast for a Hefe.  Had the grain in my "stores" already.

Part of my new inspiration is that a few local guys found out there were other brewers and we are starting a club.  Loaned out some equipment so a guy could do his first brew this last Saturday.

At any rate, I need to get my ass out of the PH and into this forum more often.

A number of guys have been getting back to it including Stain, Badogg and BJ. Good to see you guys brewing again. You ended up here because of the brewing and hung around for the PH! :D Now it's time to get back to brewing. I go through cycles where I'm less interested and just brewing to keep beer around but lately I have been really feeling a surge of new brewing creativity and a focus on good, consistent and high-quality beer. The juices are flowing! :D

I don't know that I'll be going all hard core just yet.  Trying to balance two hobbies, participation in Scouting and work has been keeping me pretty busy.  Frankly, the two hobbies are at the bottom of the pile... but they are there!

Hobbies are always at the bottom and I have to assume that homebrewing is really close to the very bottom since I could walk out of my house, be at a liquor store in less than 5 minutes and be back home drinking store-bought beer in 15 minutes total. I guarantee you that most people who see that you make your own beer wonder about your sanity when so much other beer is available with very little effort.

Are you a Jedi or a Sith?  Because that's next level mind control... especially considering the liquor store that is less than 5 minutes away gives me a "rewards coupon" every time I go (and sometimes 2 depending on how much I buy) where after 10 rewards, I get a $5 discount.  I've accumulated enough for $25 off (don't ask me how many I threw away because I thought they were just slipping their name in each time).  Plan is to get a really nice bottle of whiskey.

Hmmm, I might have to throw a hefe up next. I haven't even drank a hefe in years and it sounds pretty awesome.

Do it!

Although (Badogg can attest to this) I belong to a FB page for the Grainfather and this guy is putting together a wheat bear with a 21 pound grain bill... 2/3 of it is wheat.  He did not provide for any rice hulls in his recipe yet.   I don't think I've ever seen a wheat beer with more than 50%.  And I'm not gonna be the one to try.

Chelan Brewing used to make a 100% White Wheat malt hefe, lot's of rice hulls and keep the sprage temp up and consistant

that being said I'd not go over 60%

I've never heard of one so high.

Question is if it makes much of a difference.  I may have to try a 100% wheat sometime just to see.
