Every time the keg kicks I rinse, soak in oxiclean, disassemble, rinse, lube, sanitize parts, reassemble, sanitize, purge, and then beer goes back in.

Just found Amazon Prime has the Oxi-free... now I can give all my kegs the cleaning that I really want to give them. Need to pick up some lube.
Have a Homebrewers meeting tomorrow night... our first official one after a formation meeting. I said I'd bring a growler of Cream Ale... guess what happened over the weekend? Yup... ran out of gas. Headed over to Airgas at lunch.

do yourself a favor and pick up a bag of the Red Devil TSP 90 (sodium metasilicate) powder at a hardware store and mix that 2 lbs bag with the tub of Oxi

You need more tanks! I have 4,and 2 more at my fathers house, just so that does not happen.

So noted... 2 pounds of TSP 90 with the 3 pound tub of Oxi sound correct?

I have two tanks... but was too lazy to go get the 2nd one filled after it kicked and was swapped out. Jut got back from Airgas... took me all of 20 minutes. Two 5# tanks for a total of $48.60.
I go through a tank in maybe 18 months at best. I can't remember the last time I got them filled. But... now I have the spare ready to go and I'll be more mindful of taking the empty in right away.

Just reading some stuff on the red-devil TSP 90. They do not recommend using it with any powered machines. I will be using the Oxi on my Grainfather system, so would prefer to keep the TSP 90 out of it.
Maybe I'll just get a bag and use as/when needed and not mix the whole thing. If it is 2 pounds TSP to 3 pounds Oxi, then it's a pretty simple 2:3 ratio each time. Right? Is it that simple?

What do you mean powered? As in electric? I do it all the time.

Yeah... electric.
Here is what I saw on Amazon:
Question:
Answer:Hello - this product is designed to clean siding, floors and walls, so we would not recommend it being used in any type of powered machine. Thanks!

it's the same primary ingredient as PLC brewing cleaner and PBW, I'd never use it for washing clothes period though.
What you are making is a generic PBW. I use it 2 lbs to a 5lb tub of Sun Oxygen cleaner.

Hopefully I can find it at Menard's. Going to Home Depot is a hassle.
