2 oz of Citra whole hops, still in original vac-sealed bag from LC Carlson. Kept in dark at -5F deep freeze.  For three years.  That degradation calculator in promash says they should still be north of 10%.

Assuming they don't smell cheesy when opened, obviously.

As dj said, they should be just fine.  Were it me, i'd use them with no hesitation.

I'm kind of surprised.  I expected a lot of "why risk it?" type responses.

I've got A LOT of hops in that freezer...

I was looking through my LHBS web site to check pricing and I was shocked by how many new varieties of hops I'd never heard of.  Dozens.  Lots don't even have names, I guess, just numbers?  Like they're coming too fast to bother with naming or something.

Most of the experimental hops are just numbers.  In a few years they get names it seems.

I've mentioned this a number of times. I just received an order from YCH for Loral, El Dorado, Lemon Drop, Azacca, Apollo and Ella. Haven't used any of them yet.

I pulled out four year old hops that were still vac-sealed, but not stored cold, and they seem to have held up fine.
