Ok, so I'm made a cider using the Brewers Best kit. I added about 3-4 lbs of blueberries to it and using the recommendation of my LHBS, I put it all in a muslin sack. I went to keg the cider, and the sack is gone!

I'm trying to think to myself, did I forget to put it in? Nah, it was the first thing I put in and I poured the extract stuff over it.

Did I take it out? Not probable. I'm kind of set it and forget it kind of guy.

So, is this possible? Am I just going crazy? The cider had a bit of sputz on the bottom of the fermentor. I'm really racking my brain trying to figure this one out. I actually even took video of me making the cider, but now I'm having a hard time finding it!

Things are not going well on the first batch back after a long hiatus. Let's hope the first beer turns out right.

Last, yes I know this is the beer forum, I just wanted to get as many eyes on this as I can. Thanks!

Wow! Never seen or heard of that before! Can't think of how that would happen. Did the Blueberries fall to the bottom?

Seriously, I have no idea what happened. there was some sputz at the bottom, and looks like some blueberry pulp floating around too.

But ok, after thinking about it for a while, I've come to this conclusion. What I DID do was add some kind of clarifyer or stabilizer after about 2 weeks of fermentation as per instructions in the kit. The ONLY thing i can think of is that I pulled out the blueberries and just totally forgot I did it. I seriously don't remember, but it seriously didn't even look like all the blueberries were on the bottom, and I've never heard of the bag shredding ever. I can't say for certain, but I'm thinking that I pulled the bag out and just didn't take note of it. Like, It's just part of the process.

I guess?

You know that going back to our old Chicago-Milwaukee board that I have specific rights to the word schputz or any variation of it. You also cannot use schmengee as that is also intellectual property of MCB. You have been warned. :D

JB, sometimes if I'm brewing and I'm distracted I might forget something or possibly do something twice. I might stand there for a minute and think, "Did I add my minerals to the strike water?" The water looks clear like it always does but once the minerals dissolve it WOULD look clear. OH NO! What do I do? I'm guessing you pulled out the bag.

Oh snap! I thought the copyright on that had run out!

Yea, I bet i just didn't think about it, like I just was in robot mode and didn't even think. FREAKED me out though when the cider was siphoned out and I didn't see a bag at the bottom. I'm sure it's just me though.

So did a few of the berries end up in the cider but the bag and most of the berries were taken out? I might scratch my head too if the berries were in there but no bag.

I saw a little flesh, but truly not much. I'm betting I took it out.
