OK, I have the current hops pricing from North Country. The pricing is $23-$24/lb (~$1.50/oz) for 1# bags and $18-$19/lb (~$1.15/oz) for 11# bags. I'm definitely down with splitting up a few pound bags and I'd go in on an 11lb. bag or two if there are a couple of varieties that we all want.I'll PM everyone the price list in a little bit.

I'd probably only be interested in pellets b/c I just don't have the space in my freezer to accommodate leaf hops. Is this an option?

Was anyone interested in splitting up a bag of roasted barley between us? I usually make a few stouts a year. How about some golden promise?

Ooops, my bad, I should've mentioned that the prices above are for T90 pellets. I just automatically posted pellet prices because that's what I prefer ( ;) ). Whole leaf are $1/lb cheaper.

If this will happen in the next couple of weeks, I will take a sack of FB pilsen (and probably some specialty grains). When were you planning on placing the order?

I'm hoping to place the order in the next 2-3 weeks. Maybe sooner if we can get all our ducks in a row. I'd like to get people to agree on some hops and grains to split up if we can. I'll put you down for a sack of FB Pils...

OK, lets get the shared stuff going...put your name and how much you would want beside the product. I'm going to list a lot of options to start out and we'll trim it down when we figure out what the popular choices are.MaltsPils:Wheat:Crystal I (45L):Crystal II (60L): JK-10#,Dark Crystal I (85L):Dark Crystal II (120L): Chocolate: JK-10#,Roasted Barley: JK-10#,Melanoidin: JK-10#,Rye: JK-10#, Golden Promise:Munich:Add your own:HopsCascade: JK-1#There's a crapload of choices, I'm not going to list them all, so add what you want:I figure people could buy hops for themselves by the pound, but if there are a couple of varieties that a bunch of people want we can get an 11# bag and save $5/lb, whatever is left over I can just sell to other people on the board at cost. I'm sure it would be easy to get rid of whatever we don't want @ $18/lb.

Wow, it's annoying that you can't go back and edit your posts after a few hours. If anyone wants to stock up on specialty grains now is the time, it's only going to be about $0.80/lb for the specialty grains.Shared Supplies:MaltsPils:Wheat:Crystal I (45L):Crystal II (60L): JK-10# (need 45# for a full sack)Dark Crystal I (85L):Dark Crystal II (120L):Chocolate: JK-10#, (need 45# for a full sack)Roasted Barley: JK-10#, BZ-5# (need 40# for full sack)Melanoidin: JK-10#, BZ-5# (need 40# for full sack)Rye: JK-10#, BZ-10# (need 35# for full sack)Golden Promise:Munich: BZ-10# (need 45# for full sack)Add your own:HopsCascade: JK-1#Add your own:

Haven't posted yet as I can get grains for less(know people), but if a meetup can be organized for grain pickup date where we all have some fun I could be down.

Hey guys,Finally made the switch over here4 bags of Marris Otterin terms of specialty I really only need black malt and I can understand not wanting a whole sack of that. If it happens that you do get a sack of it though I would take 10lb anyway. I am good on hops.

What do all of you guys (who have done this before) store your grains in? I'm looking for something somewhat air/moisture tight and economical. I'll probably vacuum seal the smaller amounts of specialty grains but the 55lb bags would probably take a long time to seal up using my foodsaver.
