I ordered a couple of packets from RebelBrewer and look forward to trying it out. I'd argue that from the description it sounds like San Diego Super Yeast. Here is what the RB site had to say: Product DescriptionBrand New Strain from the good folks that brought us the wildly popular Nottingham. Quick, clean and clear, they know how we like it. BRY-97 American West Coast Yeast was selected from the Siebel Institute Culture Collection and is used by a number of commercial breweries to produce different types of ale. The propagation and drying process have been specifically designed to deliver high quality beer yeast that can be used simply and with reliability to help produce ales of the finest quality. No colors, preservatives or other unnatural substances have been used in its preparation. The yeast is produced in ISO 9002 certified plants. This yeast is GMO free. BRY-97 American West Coast Yeast is very similar to the clean American ale yeasts from the other yeast manufacturers (US-05, Wyeast 1056, White Labs 001), but has a slightly higher flocculation (clears out faster after fermentation).

"Slightly higher flocculation" doesn't sound like Pacman.

It does sound interesting. I always keep dry ale yeast around (usually US05) and also dry lager yeast like S23 or something. It might just be a mental thing, but I don't usually brew with dry yeast on purpose. I just keep it around for emergencies. I need to order a few things and maybe I'll pick some of this stuff up as well.

It's around if you google BRY-97 and Pacman. Not that will make it true. I needed some dry yeast around and tagged it on an order.

Yes, and it was crazy. I was making an English Summer Ale and was going to use 1028 which was at the bottom of another primary. I went to rack that beer out of primary and it smelled like a sewer. Whoops, I can't use that yeast so what do I do? I looked in my stash of emergency yeast and found US05 and S23, as usual. I could've totally made it with US05 but thought the S23 would be more interesting. It was Maris Otter, English hops like EKG, Styrian Goldings, etc. and then I fermented it cool w/S23 and it was quite nice. I'm pretty sure I posted it here somewhere.HERE IT IS.

Nothing about the description says "Pacman" to me. Could very well be their version of 1056. Slightly different qualities than the other variations would be normal given the drying process.
