Bought them dried in the Mexican food section. Mi Costenita brand. 2 oz for 5 gallons put in last 10 minutes of the boil.did you buy them? dry them yourself? I think the prep of the flowers is important here.

IMO they need some
Bought them dried in the Mexican food section. Mi Costenita brand. 2 oz for 5 gallons put in last 10 minutes of the boil.IMO They require sweetness to balance the chalky almost alum like quality. Thinking out load": "2 ounces does not strike me as enough for 5 gallons." Then again, my only success is in making traditional Mexican Jamaica drink, so I cold be of reference. It is a very sublime and delicate flavor. I would think they would work best with an American style wheat beer.

Great thread to find. My sister from Key Largo sent me up a big bag of semi-dried ruby red hibiscus flowers. I want to make a plan to use them in some type of summer refresher. I just reached out to 2nd Shift to ask how they used them in their outstandingly refreshing very pink and clear Hibiscus Belgian Wit. I'll let you know what I hear.https://www.2ndshift....com/Items.html

Half ounce hibiscus steeped in 8 ounces of water. Flavor mildly tart. Color brilliant. Now, to estimate how much to gain a slightly tart and rose color to 5 gallons of 5srm Saison.https://im1.shutterf.../rx=550/ry=400/
