well I racked it at 7 days to secondary, will go into crash cooler tomorrow

crashed overnight, and filtered that sucker, it's clear as a bell (for a 20 something SRM ale) and sitting on 22 psi of co2, well keg bottle on wednesday fpr local fair comp

tastes pretty good, just a hint of smoke a smooth brown with a bit of roast

it's not a clone, but it's a definite winner, filing this away for next fall

i guess your smoked malt was less smokey than mine.  i put  1lb in and it was certainly more smokey than tumbler.

Mine was too :) but I used close to 12-13% smoked malt.

I will be drinking mine with BBQ this weekend!

mic!!!!

yeah I know, it still smelled smokey, so I figured what the hell

I rewrote the recipe to indicate using 1/2# 80Lsmoked crystal malt and 1/2# 80L to account for it, I need to by a fresh Tumbler 6er to do a side by side

Too bad you can't brew it again next fall because you don't make the same beer twice! :P

I have  put it into my newly created "to be revisited" file in Pro Mash

I'll likely still tweak it, since the LHBS stopped making that malt :(
