I got the frame together this weekend, started welding the fittings, too.  I need more gas for my TIG so that's on hold for now.

All the plumbing and controls will be mounted underneath where the pots are sitting.  The control panel will be an angled panel mounted to the front of the frame, which is why the bottom platform sticks out a few inches past the top platform.  The two pieces of aluminum that the pots are sitting on are just there to hold the pots up for the pic.  There will be a solid platform that the pots sit on.

I found this the other day. https://www.atlas-sc...its/ezo_ph.html It takes input from a standard pH probe and converts the pH value to ASCII for feeding over serial. IOW, I'll be adding continuous mash pH monitoring to my system.  :D

The meter is $34 - the probe $72! YikeS!

Nice! Even though I have way to much experience dealing with 80/20, I cringe when I look at it.

I think you will quickly cook your pH probe trying to do that at mash temperature. Also, not sure why knowing the pH at any given time during the mash would be useful. But maybe you can learn me somthin'.

THe ColorpHast strips are $35 a box, so $100 for a continuous monitoring device doesn't bother me too much.

Just another piece of data.  I check my mash pH at least 3-4 times per batch to make corrections or verify I hit the proper pH.  So, two major benefits, (1) I don't have to mess with trying to interpret colorpHast strips during my mash and (2) all of my sensor data will be logged so I will have pH data for all of my batches.  I love data.  :D

Also, the probes are good to 100C continuous use, so I'm not too worried about that.

So you are basically one more solenoid and some code away from having a continuous mash pH control system.  Nice!

Well, a mash pH monitoring system anyway.  I guess I could devise some way to feed acid/base by the mL to actually control the pH, but for now I'll be happy just knowing the pH without having to run the colorpHast test.  I'm usually doing 50 things at once while I'm brewing and I often forget or wait too long to test pH.  Having it right in front of me will be nice.
