I read that a couple weeks ago.  One of the homebrewers in town knows how to flash it. I'm comfortable with what it can do but this is pretty cool.

I wonder how long they will be this cheap.  I have a couple still in the box.

I've got plenty of Loves and Rancos sitting around. Tell me why I need one of these besides they are so cheap?

I second this.  I like the idea of setting a ferm schedule but I just do not see the point, for me, to buy these and then the stuff to flash them.  If I was starting from scratch though, that would be another story.

I have a couple extras of these.  I might flash one to see how it works.

Ok then. When the Loves first came out they were the ones to have. Still are but the price has at least doubled on them since.

The STC1000 thread is getting interesting over on HomeBrewTalk. They just discovered another pin to add another sensor. They are writing code so you can use it with a cheap rims  in the mash. They also figured out how to use an  Arduino Pro Mini to flash the controller.

They just released a program to make programing the flashed STC1000 easier.5 different fermentation schedules each with 10 temp.set points, each set point will hold temp. for 0-999 hours

just a heads up - my default they can only handle 10 amps.  of course this could be overcome with purchase of additional hardware.

When I built my Love Box I purchased some 25 amp SSR's. Found them on Fleabay for just a few bucks.

They have a tutorial on how to rip out one of the relays and power a SSR from the STC1000.The modified STC1000 controls a RIMS tube.

My STC1000 has 2 relays JQC-3FF that is stamped to run 15A@125VAC,10A@277VAC
