I just finished. I think I flubbed. I ran out of time on the last beer and only had half a scoresheet on the last beer. From what I'm hearing around the room I might have scored too high too on some. I guess I should sign up for the next test in a year and a half. Shit. I'm pretty disappointed.

Don't beat yourself up. They won't count the last beer. My buddy had a whole blank sheet and scored 79.

How much time and how many beers do they give you?  I shoot for 7 min. per beer.

15 min per beer. I was trying really hard to fill out the sheet completely.

We did ours in Savannah in May.  I gave one beer a 19, the proctors rated it 42.  Oh well.............

I did a tasting retake a few years back to see if I could get to Master..only needed 2 points.  There was one beer that I described as a German pils, right down to (what I thought) was a great yeast aroma.  Turned out it was a skunked Corona....I did not get my 2 points.

A little...mainly I felt like an idiot.  I'm not sure if I'll try again or not.  It would be nice to be Master, but I don't know if that's enough incentive to try again.

in one of his books, Charlie Papazian slipped Olde English 800 into a blind tasting

I think it's easy to trick yourself into trying too hard and finding things in the beer that aren't there.

Every sheet effects your score.

Don't sweat it.  You've judged beer before and know what you're doing.
