I don't have a LBHS so I order everything online or get it when I am away from home. Lately I have been ordering mostly from Ritebrew.com (Someone here, i think pods8, knows the owner). Anyways, they are about 2.5-3 hrs. from me and their prices on everything are extremely good, and shipping is cheap. US-05=$2.99, S-04=$2.89. WYeast=$5.99 and is guaranteed no older than 2 months old.

Also $2.99 for S-04 or US-05 at Farmhouse Brew Supply, my other favorite place to order.

This is why I make starters with just a little US05. A pack will last a year or 2 for me.

My LHBS sells S-05 for $3.50.  Just bought 4 packets today.  Unless I'm looking to do something other than an american type ale it's going to be hard to justify liquid yeast with this convenience.  I'll still occasionally get some denny's fav 50 though

Yeah, I think it was about $3 when I picked some up last week.. almost to the point of just going with liquid next time.. not worth the savings.

I didn't know until I got to the register!  He also sells US-05 at $3.50 which is a good price but not incredible or anything so I kind of expected something similar.  He was actually out of US-05 and pale chocolate when I was there so I'll be headed back this week for that stuff.  I might buy a couple more although having never used it I'm not sure if that's prudent.
