What do they cost? Too bad there isn't a DE filter that you can back wash.

They are anywhere from $1.75 to $3.75 per pad and you need two per use. Some people use ordinary water sediment filters, in the standard housings to success.

Do you rack to a keg and then push from that keg through the filter and into a second keg? I assume it takes a little pressure to get it through the filter.

yes, and as cold as you dare, about 3 psi ish, CO2 purge everything, do it BEFORE carbonation
