Damn, took way to long to get to dry hopping this beer. It is in fact being dry hopped and it will be kegged on Saturday. I'm debating whether to add more hops for dry hopping or to leave it be. I have an ounce of Cascade, once of Citra, and ounce of Nelson in there now. I can add some centennial and also amarillo possibly tomorrow.

Give it a taste and then decide. Based on the 3oz you have now I think I would be inclined to add a couple more.

I have to balance laziness with my desire for hops. I have the hops in vacuum sealed bags, but my vacuum sealer is at my father in laws house. So I'd have to go over there just to seal up the hops.

I have two, one stays in the kitchen and one is right over the hop freezer.

Mine is 10 minutes away. Problem is that I have hops over at the FIL's for his system and we only have 1 sealer for each type of bag. BTW - I bought that snorkel sealer and it works great on the mylar bags. I haven't tried it enough on the regular bags. The one attempt I left the button pressed too long and melted the bag.

Beer was kegged on Monday. It's carbed up and I'm heading over to the FIL's for the taste test and switching the gas onto the BGS keg. Results to follow.

Tried the beer all carbed up last night. In the taster glass the aroma was good, but not intense. It has a nice body, really intense hop flavor (dank, citrus, piney) strong bitterness. I suspect the aroma will be better in a tulip glass. The malt backbone is good enough to support the beer. I like it. It's not quite as dank as I'd like, but it's a solid IIPA especially for a first attempt. We're taking it to a party on Saturday, so it will be consumed totally fresh just as nature intended. The only thing I think I'd do differently is brew a larger batch, more dry hopping, staggered instead of 3oz for 1 week. And I'd use less sugar and more malt to get the ABV up. I used 10 pts worth of sugar at 3 days in the fermentation.
